Members of Oswestry’s Ukrainian community

On 1st March 2025, at Oswestry Memorial Hall, the local Ukrainian community had an event to mark the 3rd anniversary of the full-scale Russian invasion.

Sharing moving stories of their journey from Ukraine to the UK, local Ukrainians thanked the Oswestry community for their warm welcome and continued support. saying “Thank you to everyone who shared this sad day with us. It was really important to be able to tell our stories and be together”.

”With your help, we managed to collect a significant amount of money, which will be sent to help those fighting in the war by providing a few home comforts (coffee, sweets, warm socks...), clothing and medical supplies, as well as adaptive clothing for injured soldiers.”

A large turnout of local residents came to offer support. A packed hall were treated to some amazing Ukrainian food, colourful costumes and traditional Ukrainian song.

Sharing stories, experiences and traditional customs, and saying thank you to the local community.
